An Experience to Showcase Nielsen’s First ever API Suite.

The Ask: Create an engaging digital experience to showcase their first ever API Suite, which includes numerous data services related to consumer trends, media consumption, purchase habits and more.

Solution

The Solution: We developed a mobile-friendly, browser-based experience that integrates Nielsen’s Item Ranking API and Executive KPI API. The application will provide navigation between both the Item Ranking and Executive KPI reports and allow the user to view specific data reports.A Browser-Based Data JubileeA fully developed browser-based, mobile-friendly, presentation of API data in a variety of different data visualization charts and graphs.Style boards to established the foundational visual design languageA clickable Invision and demo to be presented the Nielsen Steering committee prior to beginning development of the web application.A javascript and html prototype to demonstrate the ability to connect to the API’s and display crude data on a web page

Results

The Results: Nielsen launching this API Suite is pretty big deal in the world of larger to medium size CPG companies. This was one, if not the very first, digital data innovation for Nielsen, ever. Our application has been presented at trade shows to demonstrate to Nielsen clients how they can use the Nielsen API’s to create data visualizations using these API’s. The overall response was their clients want to buy the app that we designed. The app itself was never intended to be sold or distributed of course.
